Creosote Bush (Chaparral) Fresh Herb Bundles – Larrea tridentata
Botanical Name:Larrea tridentata
Common Names: Creosote bush, chaparral, greasewood, gobernadora, hediondilla
Character: Aromatic, resinous, evergreen, desert-scented
Harvest: Wild, fresh, pesticide-free
The creosote bush is a desert shrub native to the Southwest U.S. and northern Mexico—one of the most dramatic plants of the American desert. I say dramatic, because how many other plants fill an entire region with such a strong aroma after it rains. This bush’s resinous evergreen leaves are what create the desert rain scent that the Southwest is known for. Also after the rain, bright yellow flowers bloom on all the creosotes as pictured. This aromatic bush has long been appreciated in traditional desert cultures.
Our chaparral is sustainably hand-harvested from select bushes on our land in the Sonoran Desert, Arizona.
Ingredients:
2 large fresh wild-harvested Creosote (Chaparral) bundles. Flowering is dependent on the season. Hemp twine wrapped.
Bundles are approx. 4 oz. each.
(Creosote is a low density herb, very lightweight, so a few oz. goes a long way)
Use Ideas:
• Aromatherapy bundles for home fragrance
(Hang and simply wet the leaves occasionally and you will get the beloved desert rain smell)
• Smudge bundles for space cleansing
• Natural desert décor
• Salve and balm making
• Oils and tinctures
