Forest of giant saguaro cacti in Saguaro National Park, Arizona.

Saguaro National Park protects miles and miles of saguaros. It’s comforting to know that places exist where our saguaro lands cannot be disturbed. Whether you want to hike one of the 26 trails or take a Sunday desert drive, you can get your saguaro solace here.

The park is located in Tucson, Arizona and is divided into two sections, one on the east side of Tucson and one on the west. Both sides have hiking trails and scenic drives… Saguaro National Park West (Bajada Loop Drive) is perfectly unpaved and Saguaro National Park East (Cactus Forest Drive) is paved. See the video below the gallery for a Bajada Loop Drive tease.

For the love of Cacti…

One of my favorite things about Saguaro National Park is just the feeling of being engulfed in it’s saguaro forest. You’ll get to swoon over all the various shapes… from saguaros that look twisted up to those that look like their reaching out to you. There’s also plenty of other types of southwest cacti to adore also such as cholla, barrel, and prickly pear.
