Standin’ on a Corner in Winslow, Arizona

3/5/2024

Downtown Winslow, Second St.

Every so often I like to “take it easy” in Winslow, AZ. The Eagle’s music accompanied me during my days of only dreaming about drifting in the desert. I’ll never forget the first time I listened to The Eagles while actually being engulfed in the desert lands! So of course, it’s a big deal to me. I find comfort in knowing this little corner in the desert is still going strong.

My first trip in 2015, the only statue was of “Easy.”

The Standin’ on the Corner park is located on the corner of Kinsley and Second street. It’s maintained by the Standin’ on the Corner Foundation which also hosts an annual festival.

Also, being a lonely road lover, I adore the fact that Route 66 passes through Winslow!

In 2017, I enjoyed getting to experience a second statue of Glenn Frey which was added in 2016.

My most recent trip was a very windy day in March of 2024…

…Had the corner all to myself thanks to the wind!

Discovered another flat bed Ford around the corner!

There’s also a gift shop across the street from the Standin’ on the Corner park and a post office a block or so away… Don’t forget to send off your post cards!
